on july 24, dsic held the naming ceremony for the 115,000dwt crude oil/product tanker built for maersk tankers. deng changlian, deputy general manager of dsic, and directors of relevant departments attended the ceremony. ms. seungju lee named the ship "maersk sandra".
the ship is the first in a new series of product ships built by dsic for maersk tankers. the ship is 250 meters in length, 44 meters in width and 21.9 meters in depth. it has a deadweight tonnage of 115,000 tons, a structural draft of 15.35 meters and a designed speed of 14.5 knots. it is registered with lloyd's register under the singapore flag. the ship is single propeller driven with straight bow, open stern ball and semi-suspended rudder (with rudder ball). the cargo hold area is of double shell, double bottom, single deck and longitudinal skeleton structure. in order to meet the requirements of energy-saving design, energy-saving guide wheels are installed on the stern tube in front of the propeller, and the light turning margin of the propeller is not less than 3%.
facing with heavy production task and great difficulty in construction of the first ship, dsic has formulated detailed work objectives for each stage, proclaimed and implemented them step by step, earnestly implemented them and vigorously promoted the first responsibility system. in order to overcome the impact of the epidemic on construction progress, dsic carried out special live segment raids to recover the progress delayed in the early stage. since the beginning of march, the team of more than 100 people on average has been organized every day to seize the progress and overcome difficulties, so as to ensure the smooth completion of all nodes.
before the trial, many service providers for system equipment of the ship could not enter the factory on schedule. in order to ensure the smooth commissioning and inspection of the system, the commissioning personnel of the project overcame various difficulties by means of self-study, remote assistance and so on, and independently completed commissioning and acceptance of multiple systems such as fuel gas, steering gear, iccp and new temperature control system. the framo system of deep well pump, a new type of equipment, involves many deck systems and is difficult to organize. the general assembly department, together with the project team, design institute of dsic, service providers and other personnel at all levels, refined the process, assigned responsibility to each person, and carries out 24-hour uninterrupted construction for 10 days, so as to ensure that the hydraulic system can be debugged and inspected the test of oil displacement under pressure on time, and the empty ship weighing and sea trial nodes can be realized on schedule.
to combat the epidemic, ensure delivery of ships, strengthen management and seek development, dsic will firmly grasp the current golden period of shipbuilding production to ensure steady progress of production nodes for maersk series ships.
