on april 13, the hull and living building project of bacalhau floating production, storage and offloading vessel(fpso-8) built by dsic of china shipbuilding corporation (cssc) was successfully completed undocking node!
bacalhau fpso is the seventh fpso built by dsic. it is the first cooperation among dsic and world-renowned fpso contractor modec and world-famous oil company equinor. from concept to practice and from drawings to real ship, this new type of fpso is full 3d designed and visually built completely according to the concept of information and digital management in whole life cycle, and meets the information and digital operation and maintenance requirements of end users. it is the first worldwide super large marine engineering project designed according to the latest specifications of dnv, which can meet the special marine environment conditions of brazil, west africa, australia and other regions. it is suitable for oil and gas development in many offshore areas around the world, while significantly reducing operating costs for the owner.
the project is to exploit oil for oil-gas separation, oily sewage treatment, power generation, heat supply, storage and transportation of crude oil products. the project is a comprehensive large-scale offshore oil production base integrating personnel residence and production command systems. it has the unique advantages of rapid response to oil and gas development, batch construction, short construction cycle, flexible deployment and so on. the operating oil field for it is santos basin off the coast of sao paulo state of brazil. it is the fpso with the largest production capacity and reserves in brazilian waters.
the fpso is registered with dnv and flies the bahamian flag. the cargo capacity and scale parameters of it are the highest in the world. it has total length of 364 meters, shape width of 64 meters, shape depth of 33 meters, design draft of 22.65 meters, displacement of more than 460,000 tons, and deck area of 18,000 square meters, equivalent to three standard football fields. the upper oil and gas processing module weighs 57,000 tons, 583 sections will be assembled for 196 blocks construction in dock. the whole ship has as many as 36,000 pipes, weighing about 3,000 tons. the total length of cables is about 800,000 meters, which is equivalent to the straight-line distance from dalian to shanghai. the coating area is about 880,000 square meters, and the construction amount of each specialty is three times as that of ordinary vlcc.
a variety of long-term anti-corrosion materials such as titanium alloy pipes, heat-resistant alloy pipes, super two-way stainless steel pipes and improved frp pipes used in fire protection system for the first time in the world have been successfully applied to break through the problems of welding, coating and installation process, so as to realize that the platform only needs low-level maintenance in the oil field and meets the requirements of no docking for 30 years. the project is the first to apply the 750kg gas compression system and the closed-loop power generation system of gas turbine in the world. there are totally 22 cargo oil tanks with full load capacity of 2 million barrels. flexible operation mode of both fore and aft oil transfer are adopted to meet different operation requirements.
