on june 16, the first 85,000dwt bulk carrier built for avic international leasing corporation was successfully delivered by shanhaiguan shipbuilding heavy industry corporation(ssic) of dsic .
the ship is a new green, energy-saving and environmental-friendly post panamax bulk carrier. through excellent linear and low wind resistance superstructure design, the fuel consumption is greatly reduced and the seakeeping and maneuverability of the ship under adverse sea conditions are improved. it has the advantages of super large cargo tank capacity and shallow draft design, low linear resistance, high speed and low fuel consumption, and meets the sox emission rules stipulated by international maritime organization. the operation of the ship provides a more competitive cargo carrier for the routes of central and south america, africa and australia.
the ship is 227.2 meters in length, 36 meters in width and 20.35 meters in depth, 11.5 meters in design draft, 13.75 meters in structural draft, and 85,000dwt in dead weight. it is the main ship type of ssic. 18 construction contracts have come into force at present .

for unit modular design optimization, we move forward the production design procedure for a large number of outfitting parts and equipment through unit modular design, especially overall unit design for the bottom of engine room, which plays a very important role in reducing construction difficulty and cost, improving construction efficiency and quality. for layout design optimization of engine room, we fully consider the relevance of equipment system in detailed design and production design stage, reduce the connection between pipes, leave more pedestrian passageways and maintenance space, integrate the maintenance platform, and make electromechanical equipment neat and uniform.
